MIDDLE FINGER UP TO COVID LAKE DISTRICT ELOPEMENT

With the Covid pandemic of 2020 hitting us all hard couples have had to either postpone their wedding or opt for a much smaller affair. Rather than wallow at how 80% of my bookings were postponed I decided to use the time wisely and keep going and I fell in love with photography even more than I already was. So here’s just one of the inspiration shoots I organised to keep my content fresh and learn more skills.

Creating the stationary for the day was the uber talented Sundown paper. Her design was fresh and modern and popped with colour! What better way to tell your friends and family that you’ve eloped!

So our first stop was Grange Over Sands Beach. I didn’t know The Lake District even had beaches! You’d never know from these pictures that it was a freezing January day! Joanna’s hair and make-Up was done by Hair and Make Up By Saskia and even in the freezing cold and wind it stayed put all day long!

Joanna wore a beautiful, floaty dress by Pronovias with layers of tulle that blew in the wind creating the most dramatic images. The bouquet was by Moss Floral Artistry who created a huge, wild bouquet full of foliage, roses and poppies tied with silk ribbons from Ribbon and Thyme.

From here we headed to the most epic cave I’ve ever been in. It was absolutely magical and huge! Dark and gloomy with the most perfect light shining through. We took some lanterns with us and the candle light made it even more special and ethereal. The flowers in the bouquet from Moss Floral Artistry popped against the dark walls of the cave making the most romantic scene.

So from the beaches to the caves to the snow capped mountains! The couple had a bit of fun with a banner from Killer Queen Textiles sending a message that I think everyone wants to scream at the top of their lungs right now!
